My name is Harold Sweeney. I am the proud owner of a small carpet cleaning business founded in 1992. Magic Carpet Cleaning & more. http://www.magiccarpetcleaningandmore.com/ When I started out, I used dry cleaning systems. I found out quickly that I needed an extraction device. I then combined a small steam cleaner with a dry cleaning system. I eventually moved to a high power portable electric system. The unit was called the Therminator. This was OK but I could not reach very far. I also felt that I needed more suction, as the unit only had 2 vacuum motors in it. I replaced them with two 3 stage motors. This was better but still not the suction. I decided to add two more motors. Making it a total of four 3 stage motors. Each set mounted on a separate manifold and 2 inch pipe going into a 10 gallon waste tank. I added an instant water heater. This made a total of 5 cords to operate the system. I Then built power plugs for the drier and the stove outlet that would allow 4 motors to be plugged in. The system was heavy. I built 5 different 220 adapters that would allow me to connect to almost any type of 220 outlet.
I then switched over to gas powered truckmounts. The workflow of truckmounts are amazing, but after experiencing the $400 a month lease, and then the cost of repairs after warranty runs out. It was starting to cost my business. I was also spending almost $6000.00 per year on gasoline.
On November 28th 2011 I started to research the idea of using solar panels with batteries to power my custom built Electric Carpet Cleaning Truckmount System. I was told that it was not possible! I was told it could not be done. The power needed to run vacuum motors is immense. Yes I went back to the drawing board and invented what I call the "blower box module". It was a wooden box with eight 2 stage vacuums motors connected to power plugs so they could be plugged directly into a wall or into what I call the "control module", designed to give these 8 motors on/off switches. As well as a face to look at.
The control module attaches to the top of a gas generator. Also located on the "control module" is my "no mess solar battery auto pump out system", this was combined with my "Solar water pump system". Using a voltage regulator to control water pressure. Combined with a mechanical peak control. The voltage regulator is plugged into a 1500 watt inverter, a 100 watt solar panel and a 100 AH battery. Also operates as an emergency electric backup system.
I recycled the exhaust from the generator directing it into what I call "stainless steel heat exchange module" with 50 feet of stainless steel coil and a manual exhaust diverter for the heat temperature.
I called my new truckmount system "G.R.E.S.B " Generator Recycled Energy Solar Battery Electric Truckmount System by HS. (Pictured above with mini water turbines). It became a reality on March 3rd 2015 when I tested the system for the first time. This design exceeds the suction on the #1 selling gas powered Truckmount. In 2020 I installed the 2100 amp hour S.E.T.T.S. Battery system. Capable of powering all 8 motors if needed.
